Under pressure from legal action initiated by
Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, the US Department of
Homeland Security released the following justifications for the recent
deportation of the former pop star:
10. He keeps changing his name (from Steven Georgiou to Cat
Stevens to Yusuf Islam). That's a clear sign of guilt. For
something.
9. He was refused entry to Israel in 2000.
Those guys must know something.
We trust them almost as much as we do Saudi Arabia.
8. He's a Muslim. 'Nuff said.
7. Not only is he a Muslim, but he actually chose to be one!
6. He keeps condemning terrorism. You know a Muslim
who does that must be up to something.
5. We really don't like
him.
4. Our expensive, new Advanced
Passenger Information System says
he has to be watched. Technology doesn't lie.
3. He's a "peace activist." His kind ruin all the fun.
2. He criticizes the US war on Iraq. Maybe we could
forgive his peace posturing if he would keep his mouth shut about that.
1. He gave up a lucrative career for his religious
beliefs. You can't trust someone who can't be bought.
