Insults to the United States

It seems I have this English cousin ... distant English cousin. She turned up by email a few months ago, digging up roots, or whatever they call it these days.

So we exchanged a few emails, and she seemed ... a littly dingy, maybe, but decent enough. Until she started insulting the US of A, that is. This is what she did. You'll never believe this. Unless you've dealt with foreigners before. She sends me this picture of a pickup with a Confederate flag in the rear window and a beautifully painted tailgate. The painting on the tailgate is the World Trade Center towers going up in flames, and it has the legend, "Everything I ever needed to know about Islam, I learned on 9/11."

Ok, my first reaction is, "Cool truck!" But my patriot senses are tingling. I start thinking, "Wait a minute there. I sense a European insult to America in there!" And I got a bit upset. And let me be clear about this - it was because I'm patriotic, not because it was my pickup in the picture. So I let 'er have it with both barrels of the Ungrateful European Credo: "If it weren't for us, you'd be speaking German!" and "Remember the Marshall Plan!" (Apparently, there hasn't been anything since WWII.) We are the most generous people in the world, except when it comes to our own poor.

Enemies of America, beware! Those of us who fly the Confederate flag will tolerate no insult to the Union!
