Electing the Honey Thief

So, the bees elected a badger as Honey Thief, and the damn' thing kept coming back and trashing the hive, the way badgers do. But it hadn't quite finished its demolition, when it was time to elect a new Honey Thief. So, the bees saw an opportunity there.
"We have got to get rid of that badger!" said Bea.
"No question about it," agreed Honey, and all the other bees buzzed their little wings in confirmation.
"Who's running?" asked Buzz.
"Well, there's another badger, of course, representing the Badger Party," replied Bea. "Then there are two humans fighting it out for the Human Party nomination."
"And they are ...?" prompted Buzz.
"There's the Man and the Woman," said Bea.
"I like the Woman," said Honey.
"What's the difference?" asked Buzz.
"Not much," said Bea. "Both of them promise not to destroy our hive while they steal our honey."
"Are there any candidates who won't steal our honey?," asked Buzz, who was not very bright.
"Well, of course not," replied Honey. "The job is Honey Thief. It has to be someone who steals our honey."
"But either of the Human Party candidates would be a lot better than the badger," added Bea.
"But why do we have to have anyone steal our honey?" whined Buzz, who was totally lost.
All of the bees shook their little heads pityingly.
"Anyway," continued Bea, "I like the Man."
"Never!" buzzed Honey. "I'd sooner vote for the badger!"
There was a lot of hostile buzzing, and sides quickly formed. Harsh words were said. Stingers were drawn.
"But I thought there wasn't much difference between the Man and the Woman," Buzz protested weakly. "What are we all stinging each other about? Shouldn't we be saving that for the next badger attack?"
The bees shook their heads again. Oh, that Buzz.
And it came to pass that the Man prevailed as the Human Party nominee.
"Ok," said Bea. "It's time for us to unite behind the candidate that will only steal our honey, but not destroy our hive."
"No way!" groused Honey. "I'm voting for the badger. And everyone who wanted the Woman should vote for the badger, too!"
"Do you know what suicide is?" asked Bea.
"Could someone explain to me again why we have to have a Honey Thief?" inquired Buzz, plaintively.
Oh, that Buzz.
