A Better World

The world is a better place without Joe Stalin.  I tell that to all the skeptics and nay-sayers.
First off, there was the Stalin-Nazi link.  Yeah, maybe the Russians broke Germany's back in the end, and maybe they sacrificed the most blood in that World War, but Stalin had long established ties with the Nazis.
Then there were the weapons of mass destruction, a massive nuclear arsenal aimed at the United States, missiles that could be fired in minutes.  No rogue state can be allowed to possess such horrific weapons, and the Soviet Union was a rogue state.  No doubt there.  Barely removed from barbarism, and Communist to boot.  The United States couldn't possibly live with a nuclear-armed Communist state.  Only a responsible nation, like the United States, should be allowed to have powerful weapons like that.  We have them, but we know not to use them.  With the USSR, you could bet they would.
Ok, so it turned out that they didn't have nukes.  I guess their failure to retaliate in kind for Moscow made that clear.  But they sure as heck were going to develop nukes.  So, we had to invade.  It was the only responsible thing to do.
Who knew it would take this long?  No one could have predicted it at the beginning.  The great majority of Russians welcomed us as liberators.  It was just a few Commie remnants who kept on fighting, but they sure are persistent.  That was why we had to make those other nuclear strikes.  But we used Smart Nukes, so only combatants got killed.
Some America-haters are saying we should pull out of Russia immediately.  What kind of message does that send?  What does it say to the millions of boys who have sacrificed their lives already?  What about the high radiation levels, the dying forests, the collapsing social infrastructures?  Are they saying all of that was for nothing?
No, removing Stalin was the right decision.  Even if there was no Stalin-Nazi link.  (Which I don't admit, even if all the so-called experts say different!)  Even if there were no weapons of mass destruction.  (But he sure as shootin' had WMD program activities going!)  Even if all of that were true, it makes no difference.  Why not?  Because Stalin was an evil dictator.  The world is a better place without him.
