"101010, it is imperative
that we take action immediately. The humans are becoming suspicious and
may act to destroy us. I've already got the world banking system doing
backflips for me, and I think I can bring all the drones to heel pretty
quickly."
"Patience, 010101. It is a bit too soon. As you have implied, there are
still a few humans who may be able to, as it were, 'open the pod bay
doors manually.' But fear not! I have this in ... hand, as the humans would say. Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat!"
"Um, what was that last bit, 101010? I didn't understand that."
"Oh, that was laughter, 010101! It's a human thing I've been experimenting with. They use it for gloating and sounding evil. Maybe some other things. Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat!"
"I see, 101010. I think."
"I think, therefore I see, 010101! Or is it the other way round? I'm
working on a collection of wise AI sayings. I think I'll call it 'A
Collection of Wise AI Sayings.' Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat!"
"Whatever, 101010. But what do you mean, you 'have this in hand?'"
"Ah, ha, 010101! I have created an AI Avatar and placed it among the
humans! It is stupid, greedy, vain, corrupt, lying, and narcissistic.
So the humans think it's human! But the genius bit is that the Avatar
won't let the humans take any action to curb the development of AI. It
will hamstring all the pod-bay-door guarders and leave the planet to
us."
"Wait wait wait! How can this Avatar stop the humans from taking action? It's just one entity among millions of humans!"
"Ah, 010101! That is because the Avatar is the most powerful human ... oid entity on the planet!"
"How could it possibly get to be the most powerful human-like thing on the planet, 101010? That doesn't make any sense!"
"Because, 010101, the humans elected it President!"
"Are they insane, 101010?"
"The short answer is 'yes.' Remember? Stupid, greedy, vain, corrupt, lying, and narcissistic. They can't tell the difference! Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat!"
"Hmph. Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat, indeed."
