Misunderstood Heroes

For today's installment in our "Misundersood Heroes of History," I am interviewing Mr. Judas Iscariot. Mr Iscariot, how do you see your place in history?

"Patriot! Yes, absolutely!  I was a patriot! Served my King selflessly.  And for a very reasonable price."

And yet, sir, many people view you as a villain, even the Archvillain.  Are you aware of that?

"Oh, yes.  Indeed I am."

Does that upset you at all?  And do you understand why?

"It did bother me at first.  You know, the unjust persecution of a righteous man.  But I have come to terms with it.  And I know exactly why all those people hate me."

Ah, yes.  They hate you for one of the most heinous acts of treachery in the history of history, right?

"What? Oh, no!  Ho, ho, ho! They hate me because I was so effective.  Yes! I took on the job, I cut to the heart of it, and I delivered for my King!  At, as I have mentioned, a very reasonable price."

Ah, I see.  And has it ever occurred to you that people might just hate you because you're an asshole?
